Your manuals, but they answer

Ask about the things you own in your own words — and get the page that proves it.

A light comes on in your dashboard. An amber horseshoe with an exclamation mark in it. You have no idea what it means, and you have no idea what it’s called, which means you can’t look it up.

Your manual knows. It’s 532 pages, it’s in the glovebox, and it calls that thing a TPMS indicator — a phrase you have never heard in your life.

Xgest closes that gap. Ask “what’s the orange horseshoe light?” and it works out that you mean TPMS, finds the page, and tells you what your manual says. Then it shows you the page, so you can check.

Ask in your own words

You don’t have to know the terminology. That’s the whole point. Xgest translates what you said into the language your manual actually uses, searches your copy, and answers from what it finds.

Every answer cites a page number. Tap it and the real page opens — the actual PDF, zoomable, exactly as printed. Not a summary you have to trust. The page.

Or just take a photo

Sometimes you have no words at all. A symbol on a dial. An unlabelled button. A light you’ve never seen before.

Point the camera at it. Xgest works out what it is, then looks it up in your manual and answers from there — with the page, same as always.

Your manuals stay yours

Xgest reads and indexes your manuals on your phone. They are never uploaded. There’s no shared library, no account, no ads, and nothing tracking you.

Only your question and about five paragraphs go out to be turned into an answer — roughly 1% of what sending the whole manual would take. The document itself never leaves.

How that works →

It works in the garage

Which is where manuals get read. Reading and searching your manuals needs no signal at all, because they’re already on your phone. Only writing the answer does.

Add a manual in one step

Paste a link to the PDF from the maker’s site. Or share one straight into Xgest from Safari or Files. It’s indexed in a second or two and it’s yours from then on.

Cars, ranges, dishwashers, garage door openers, receivers, mowers — anything with a manual you were never going to read cover to cover.

Built because I was standing in my driveway squinting at a warning light with a 532-page PDF on my phone and no idea what to search for.
